The CHPTA has arranged this information session with a RPRA registered Producer Responsibility Organization (PRO) who is in the marketplace to help producers meet their regulatory obligations under the new Ontario Blue Box Regulation:

•On Thursday, September 2nd, 10:00 a.m. -11:00 a.m. ET, Circular Materials presentation 

Circular Materials is a not-for-profit, producer-governed organization established to support producers with meeting their obligations under extended producer responsibility (EPR) regulations across Canada. In Ontario, this national organization is operating as Circular Materials Ontario and will be providing producers with a full suite of EPR compliance services to meet the requirements of the province’s Blue Box Regulation.

As producers participating in recycling programs across the country, Circular Materials’ founders have created an organization specifically tailored to support producers with meeting all the requirements of Ontario’s Blue Box Regulation. These services include:

• Strong representation for producers in the development of the Blue Box collection system and the rules for its operation.
• Effective and transparent producer governance with meaningful producer engagement.
• Secure data management for reporting supply and recycling performance to regulators.
• Commitment to achieving management targets for all material categories (rigid plastic, flexible plastic, metal, glass, paper and beverage containers).
• Cost efficiency through competitive procurement of collection and processing services.
• A system of fair cost allocation among participating producers.
• Support for producers in meeting their recycled content commitments.
• Clear and compelling consumer promotion and education that drives results.

This presentation is for CHPTA & COPA members only and will cover expertise & services Circular Materials Ontario can offer members of the CHPTA (COPA) to fulfill their obligations under the Blue Box Regulation.  Questions will be welcomed.
